At church this morning, we sang the hymn “Jesus Loves Even Me.” I especially liked the following stanza:
“Though I forget Him, and wander away,
“Still He doth love me wherever I stray;
“Back to His dear loving arms I do flee,
“When I remember that Jesus loves me.”
A number of Christians may criticize that hymn for being too
individualistic. I happen to like it, though. I think it’s important
to remember that God loves each and every one of us. That doesn’t
preclude the importance of helping other people, though.
