I'll be preaching this coming Sunday, and I watched the episode of The Waltons in which John-Boy has to give the sermon at his church. Giving
a sermon can be quite difficult. There's the challenge of coming up
with something thoughtful to say, that people would actually want to
hear. And then there's the challenge of delivering your points in an
effective manner. But it was enjoyable to watch how John-Boy dealt with
this. And, on a side-note, I could also identify with other characters
in their struggles on this episode: Olivia was trying to be a good
substitute teacher, and Jim-Bob was struggling to find a topic for a
paper he had to write.
I may refer to part of this episode tomorrow, in another post about preaching. Stay tuned!
