I somewhat like this New York Times piece: A Riveting Speaker, Waving the Flag. Although it's liberal, it acknowledges that Sarah Palin is an electrifying speaker who continues to draw crowds and thunderous applause (largely from the conservative base).
That can't really be denied. She's really in her element when she gives a speech. Even what the media report as gaffes come out sounding good when I actually hear her making them. She sounds so confident, articulate, engaging, and poised.
I'm glad that her bad interviews haven't destroyed her popularity among the base of the Republican Party. And I hope that they turn out in large numbers to vote, since that can make the difference in this election.
