Frederick Lehman's The Love of God

At church this morning, we sang the song "The Love of God", which was written by Frederick Lehman.  The song talked about how the love of God reaches to the deepest hell, and so I wondered if Lehman was a Christian universalist.  After doing some reading, I doubt it, because he helped found the Nazarene Publishing House (see here and here), and the Nazarenes do not strike me as universalists!  But I also learned that Lehman borrowed the third stanza of his hymn from an eleventh century Jewish poem called the Haddamut.  For information about how Lehman learned about this poem and what it is about, see here.
